STEFANIE AKASHI
PROFILE
Born and raised in the Philippines to Filipino and Japanese parents, Stefanie moved to Tokyo to pursue her acting career. Her fluency in English and Tagalog, along with conversational Japanese, opened doors for her to play one of the leads, Maria, in the critically acclaimed feature Plan 75 (Caméra d’Or Special Mention at the 75th Cannes Film Festival; Japan’s official entry for the 95th Academy Awards), earning her Best Supporting Actress award at the Malaysia International Film Festival.
In 2024, she made her musical theatre debut as the lead, Rio, in the original production Mahal Ko Medley. She continues to work actively in Japan and in international co-productions and is professionally transitioning from Stefanie Arianne to Stefanie Akashi, honouring her father’s last wishes.
